Archetype Lesson Three Fluf/Imp/furs
Greetings students, Fellow staff members, and anyone tuning into this week's lesson. Today I shall be focusing on the Archetypes, Fluffals, Edge Imps, and Frightfurs. The reason why 3 are being done today is cause they all are interlinked and work in tandem with each other.
Fluffals are fairy type Earth attribute monsters with each one having the appearance of a stuffed animal as well as having angeling wings somewhere on their form, while Edge Imps are Fiend Dark types that appear as bladed weaponry or tools for bludgeoning. These monsters work in synergy for fusions, in fact they even have their own fusion cards, but I'll get to that later. The Frightfurs are the fusion monsters that mix when edge imps fuse with Fluffals, they end up corrupting and mutilating their cute adorable appearances into vicious monsters and killing machines that could give children nightmares.
Fluffal Bear: You can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard; Set 1 "Toy Vendor" directly from your Deck to your Spell & Trap Zone. You can Tribute this card, then target 1 "Polymerization" in your Graveyard; add it to your hand. You can only use 1 "Fluffal Bear" effect per turn, and only once that turn. This effect is self explanatory, and this guy helps you get one of your key swarming cards. Also he can be used to recycle Poly's if you desperately need it.
Fluffal Cat: If this card is sent to the Graveyard as a Fusion Material for a Fusion Summon: You can target 1 "Polymerization" in your Graveyard; add it to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Fluffal Cat" once per turn. You can use this monster for a fusion at no cost of a spell card in a sense. Use polymerization while its in your hand or field and get refunded your spell card.
Fluffal Dog: When this card is Normal or Special Summoned from the hand: You can add 1 "Edge Imp Sabres" or 1 "Fluffal" monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Fluffal Dog". You can only use this effect of "Fluffal Dog" once per turn. Your typical Monster archetype search engine. Summon him if you lack an edge imp for a Frightfur Fusion monster. He also has decent attack to kill weak annoying monsters.
Fluffal Leo: When this card declares an attack: It gains 500 ATK until the end of the Battle Phase. This guy is a typical anti-beater monster. No search power or recycle ability, and is not a requirement in any of the fusions. I would recommend running just 1 of him unless you want more main deck strength.
Fluffal Owl: When this card is Normal or Special Summoned from the hand: You can add 1 "Polymerization" from your Deck to your hand. You can pay 500 LP; Fusion Summon 1 "Frightfur" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or your side of the field as Fusion Materials. You can only use 1 "Fluffal Owl" effect per turn, and only once that turn. This guy is an instant poly in your hand. But if you've run out of polymerizations you can pay life to to a usion summon without a fusion spell card.
Fluffal Rabbit: If this card is sent to the Graveyard as a Fusion Material for a Fusion Summon: You can target 1 "Edge Imp Sabres" or 1 "Fluffal" monster in your Graveyard, except "Fluffal Rabbit"; add it to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Fluffal Rabbit" once per turn. He is used to recycle monsters used for fusions when he himself is fused, helps with consistency and hand advantage.
Fluffal Sheep: If you control a "Fluffal" monster other than "Fluffal Sheep", you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). You can return 1 other "Fluffal" monster you control to the hand; Special Summon 1 "Edge Imp" monster from your hand or Graveyard. You can only use this effect of "Fluffal Sheep" once per turn. Field swarmer monster that helps give ammo to Frightfur monster's whos effect's are based on the total number of monsters use to fusion summon it.
Fluffal Mouse: During your Main Phase: You can Special Summon up to 2 "Fluffal Mouse" from your Deck. This effect can only be used once while this card is face-up on the field. You cannot Special Summon monsters from your Extra Deck during the turn you activate this effect, except "Frightfur" monsters. Before I talk about this guy I just want to say this thing is adorable as hell, its a little mouse nuzzling a freaking donut. Now that that is done, this guy is a risk/reward monster. The risk is to use him effectively you gotta run max. However that takes up space for other cards you can use. Also you can't draw into more then 1 or his effect isn't as effective. Summon one, you get the rest in your deck. Fusion him for Frightfur Tiger or Wolf and the results are deadly, we'll talk about those two later.
Edge Imp Chain: When this card declares an attack: You can add 1 "Edge Imp Chain" from your Deck to your hand. If this card is sent from the hand or the field to the Graveyard: You can add 1 "Frightfur" card from your Deck to your hand. You can only use 1 "Edge Imp Chain" effect per turn, and only once that turn. This guy's effect can be considered risk and reward. Ram him into a monster to get another chain, and if he's sent to the grave you can get a Frightfur card, such as Frightfur fusion, but more on the spells later.
Edge Imp Sabres: If this card is in the Graveyard: You can place 1 card from your hand on the top of the Deck; Special Summon this card in Defense Position. You can only use this effect of "Edge Imp Sabres" once per turn. This card should be your bread and butter Edge Imp. He can easily revive himself at the cost of putting a card on top of your deck. Also this effect can be used to rig one of the support spell cards, more on that later.
Edge Imp Saw: When this card is Normal Summoned: You can send 1 "Fluffal" monster from your hand to the Graveyard; draw 2 cards, then place 1 card from your hand on either the top or bottom of the Deck. You can only use this effect of "Edge Imp Saw" once per turn. If your in need of cards when you summon him, just toss a fluffal for 2 cards, and like before depending on whats in your hand you can rig the results of a spell that will be discussed later.
Edge Imp Tomahawk: You can send 1 "Edge Imp" monster from your hand to the Graveyard; inflict 800 damage to your opponent. You can send 1 "Edge Imp" monster from your Deck to the Graveyard, except "Edge Imp Tomahawk"; this card's name becomes the sent monster's name until the End Phase. You can only use each effect of "Edge Imp Tomahawk" once per turn. The Deck effect is useful when you don't have the right edge imp for the corrisponding Frightfur Fusion Monster. Also you should consider to put Sabre in grave due to his self revive effect.
Edge Imp Frightfuloid: (This card is always treated as a "Frightfur" card.) You can target 1 "Frightfur" Fusion Monster you control or in your Graveyard; this card's ATK and DEF becomes that target's original ATK and DEF, until the end of this turn. You can only use this effect of "Edge Imp Frightfuloid" once per turn. This guy can be considered a desperation monster, don't have a fusion to use or lack the materials? Summon him to get a nasty beater if you got a Frightfur in your grave. His also use is to be fodder for Frightfur Chimera.
Currently, all Frightfurs require a specific Edge-imp with the exception of chimera, so be careful of when you fusion summon one of these, that you got the correct one.
Frightfur Bear: "Edge Imp Sabres" + "Fluffal Bear"
When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: You can equip that monster to this card as an Equip Spell Card with this effect.
● The equipped monster gains 1000 ATK.
This guy is a bit harder to get out then the other frightfurs since it requires a specific Edge Imp AND fluffal. However, the longer he stays alive the stronger he will get.
Frightfur Leo: 1 "Edge Imp Saw" + 1 "Fluffal" monster
Must be Fusion Summoned and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; destroy it, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the destroyed monster's original ATK. You can only use this effect of "Frightfur Leo" once per turn. This card cannot attack your opponent directly during the turn you activate this effect.
This monster is an exact replica of 61 Volcasaurus, except that he is slightly weaker then number 61.
Frightfur Sheep: "Edge Imp Chain" + 1 "Fluffal" monster
If this card attacks or is attacked, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects until the end of the Damage Step. If this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, or if this card in your possession is destroyed by an opponent's card effect and sent to your Graveyard: You can Special Summon this card, and if you do, it gains 800 ATK. You can only use this effect of "Frightfur Sheep" once per turn.
Sheep starts off a bit weak, but he is very hard to put down since he can't be stopped by a top deck raigeki or a mirror force as he will just revive himself and with more attack power. Basically this card has to be killed twice for it to stay dead. Second rule of Zombieland, double tap.
Frightfur Tiger: "Edge Imp Sabres" + 1 or more "Fluffal" monsters
You can only control 1 "Frightfur Tiger". When this card is Fusion Summoned: You can target a number of cards on the field, up to the number of Fusion Materials used for its Fusion Summon; destroy them. All "Frightfur" monsters you control gain 300 ATK for each "Fluffal" and "Frightfur" monster you control.
This guy, With the release of mouse he is a lot more deadly then before. Each monster used to fusion summon him lets him destroy 1 card for each one used. He can be used to clear your opponents backrow or front lines for an easily strike at their life.
Frightfur Wolf: "Edge Imp Sabres" + 1 or more "Fluffal" monsters
Must be Fusion Summoned with the above Fusion Material Monsters, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. This card can attack a number of times each Battle Phase, up to the number of Fusion Materials used for its Fusion Summon.
Just like Tiger, with mouse this guy is completely nasty as he can attack each turn based on the number of monsters used to fusion summon him. If you summon both tiger and wolf in one turn, it might just end up being an OTK.
Frightfur Chimera: 3 "Frightfur" monsters
Must be Fusion Summoned, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. If this card attacks or is attacked, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects until the end of the Damage Step. When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon that monster to your side of the field, but its ATK is halved. You can only use this effect of "Frightfur Chimera" once per turn. This card gains 300 ATK for each monster you control that is owned by your opponent.
This guy is hard to get out since you need 3 frightfurs monsters. Because you can easily win with the other monsters it's unlikely the game will last this long to summon him. If you do summon him, he is literally a fusion version of Goyo Gaurdian, except monsters you steal have half attack power and he gains 300 atk for each one stolen.
Frightfur Factory: You can banish 1 "Polymerization" Spell Card or "Fusion" Spell Card from your Graveyard, except "Diffusion Wave-Motion"; Fusion Summon 1 "Frightfur" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or your side of the field as Fusion Materials. If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 of your banished "Frightfur Fusion"; add it to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Frightfur Factory" once per turn. Acts as an alternate method to fuse if your dead drawing and don't have ways to return or search for a fusion spell.
Frightfur Fusion: Fusion Summon 1 "Frightfur" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, by banishing Fusion Materials listed on it from your side of the field or your Graveyard. You can only activate 1 "Frightfur Fusion" per turn. TL:DR This card is the miracle fusion card for this archetype.
Toy Vendor: Once per turn: You can discard 1 card; draw 1 card and reveal it, then if it is a "Fluffal" monster, you can Special Summon 1 monster from your hand. Otherwise, discard the card you drew. If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can add 1 "Edge Imp Sabres" or 1 "Fluffal" monster from your Deck to your hand. Now as you read this effect you might remeber me talking about rigging this effect. By using Sabre's effect and putting a fluffal in your hand on top of your deck, you can use toy's effect to get a free special summon.
Stitching Reborn: Target 1 "Fluffal" or "Frightfur" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it, but its effects are negated. You can only activate 1 "Stitching Reborn" per turn. Basicly, this card is a parody of monster reborn for this archetype.
Fluffal Crane: When a face-up "Fluffal" monster(s) you control is destroyed by battle with an opponent's attacking monster or by an opponent's card effect and sent to your Graveyard: Target 1 of those monsters; add it to your hand, and if you do, draw 1 card. Useful Recycle card as well as a free card draw, useful if you dead draw and don't want to make any risky plays.
Frightfur Customization Target 1 "Edge Imp" or "Fluffal" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it. If that monster is used as a Fusion Material, you can treat it as a "Frightfur" monster. Trap version of monster reborn, and this card is not continuous meaning its one and done with no fear of an MST. Also useful to get fodder to summon Chimera.
With enough monsters, its hard to put in other monsters as it might upset balance and consistency, but there are plenty of generic spells and traps to use, mainly spells. You might want to consider running a heavy spell deck, considering its a fusion deck, and plan on siding in royal decrees just in case.
Fusion Recovery Target 1 "Polymerization", and 1 Fusion Material Monster that was used for a Fusion Summon, in your Graveyard; add them to your hand. Simple recycle card nothing more needs to be said.
Fusion substitute (This card's name is always treated as "Polymerization".)Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters you control as Fusion Materials. You can banish this card from your Graveyard, then target 1 Fusion Monster in your Graveyard; return it to the Extra Deck, then draw 1 card. This card takes up a polymerization spot and is a bit harder to use since it requries field monsters, but the recycle effect can be helpful in a pinch.
Fusion conscription Reveal 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, and if you do, add 1 of the Fusion Materials listed on that card from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand, but for the rest of this turn, you cannot Normal Summon/Set or Special Summon monsters, or activate the effects of monsters, with the same name as that monster added to your hand by this effect. You can only activate 1 "Fusion Conscription" per turn. Useful if you can't get a specific edge-imp for a specific fusion you need. Though it prevents you from using the effects/summoning of the monster you searach for.
Dark Fusion Send, from your hand or your side of the field to the Graveyard, the Fusion Material Monsters that are listed on a Fiend-Type Fusion Monster Card, then Special Summon that Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon). The Special Summoned monster cannot be targeted by the opponent's Spells, Traps, or card effects this turn. Since Frightfur monsters are fiends you can use this card to summon them. Also this is a great card for them since it prevents them from being bottomless or D-prisoned and such on the turn their summoned.
Fusion Reserve Reveal 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, add 1 of the Fusion Materials listed on that card from your Deck to your hand, then you can add 1 "Polymerization" from your Graveyard to your hand. This is basically a trap version of Conscription except that there's no negative downside and you can recycle a fusion, however it is a trap so you can't use it on the turn you set it of course.
That is all for today's lesson, i hope everyone who took the time to read it learned something more and become a stronger and smarter duelist.
What Exactly are these guys?
Fluffals are fairy type Earth attribute monsters with each one having the appearance of a stuffed animal as well as having angeling wings somewhere on their form, while Edge Imps are Fiend Dark types that appear as bladed weaponry or tools for bludgeoning. The Frightfurs are the fusion monsters that mix when edge imps fuse with Fluffals, they end up corrupting and mutilating their cute adorable appearances into vicious monsters and killing machines that could give children nightmares.
Fluffals: Their Cute, sickeningly Adorable, and will probably make you vomit rainbows.
Edge Imps, Does anyone else thing these guys are murder weapons?
Edge Imp Chain: When this card declares an attack: You can add 1 "Edge Imp Chain" from your Deck to your hand. If this card is sent from the hand or the field to the Graveyard: You can add 1 "Frightfur" card from your Deck to your hand. Five Nights at Freddies? More like Five Nights at Frightfurs, I mean seriously look at these guys!
Currently, all Frightfurs require a specific Edge-imp with the exception of chimera, so be careful of when you fusion summon one of these, that you got the correct one.

Archetype Spells, Sorry no lame joke this time
Frightfur Factory: You can banish 1 "Polymerization" Spell Card or "Fusion" Spell Card from your Graveyard, except "Diffusion Wave-Motion"; Fusion Summon 1 "Frightfur" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or your side of the field as Fusion Materials. If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 of your banished "Frightfur Fusion"; add it to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Frightfur Factory" once per turn. Trap Card Activate, *JUMP SCARE* OH F--K!! *falls out of chair*

This is basically a trap version of Conscription except that there's no negative downside and you can recycle a fusion, however it is a trap so you can't use it on the turn you set it of course.
That is all for today's lesson, i hope everyone who took the time to read it learned something more and become a stronger and smarter duelist.
