Archetype Lesson two Zefra
The Zefra's storm forth and charge the field! Ok serious time, its archetype lesson time! Today, if you haven't guessed yet, will be about the pendulum archetype, Zefras.
Zefra's are a very unique concept, as they mix multiple archetypes in for there 10 monsters. The archetype hyrbids include, Ritual beast, Yang-Zing, Shaddoll, Nekroz, and Tellarknights. Each Zefra monster has white angelic names somewhere in their appearance as well as a colorful crystal sphere located somewhere on their form.Zefra's are a reference to the Sephiroth, the 10 attributes/emanations in Kabbalah. As of yet, zefra's do not have their own ace/boss monster, however the sephiroth has 11 total, and currently there are 10 zefra monsters. The one that zefra's don't reflect is Da'at, and its location is were the other 10 are united as one, hinting that zefra's could get a true ace monster. Each archetype hyrbid has 2 monsters each, and each monster represents each side of the pendulum scale the zefra's support, 1 and 7. Because of their loose scales, the zefra's prevent the pendulum summoning of other monsters except for zefras, or the monster archetype that pendulum monster belongs too. Like the shaddoll zefra only allows the pendulum summon of zefra's and shaddolls. This is the only pendulum effect all Zefra monster's have and it can not be negated.

Monster effect: If this card is Normal, Flip or Pendulum Summoned: You can target 1 other "tellarknight" or "Zefra" card in your Monster Zone or Pendulum Zone, and 1 face-up card your opponent controls; destroy them. You can only use this effect of "Satellarknight Zefrathuban" once per turn. Since all Zefra monsters are pendulum monsters, they are sent to the extra deck to be pendulum summoned later.
Zefraxciton: Level 4 Scale 7 Atk 1900 Def 0 Origin Monster, Evilswarm Exciton Knight
Monster effect: Monster Effect If this card is Normal, Flip or Pendulum Summoned: You can target 1 other "tellarknight" or "Zefra" card in your Monster Zone or Pendulum Zone, and 1 Set card your opponent controls; destroy them. You can only use this effect of "Stellarknight Zefraxciton" once per turn.

You can only use this effect of "Shaddoll Zefracore" once per turn. This effect is useful when you need more monsters on the field for a type of special summon such as xyz or synchro.

Monster Effect If this card is Pendulum Summoned or sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 card in either player's Pendulum Zone; return it to the hand. You must have a "Zefra" card in your Pendulum Zone to activate and to resolve this effect. You can only use this effect of "Shaddoll Zefranaga" once per turn. A good card to use when either you need to recycle one of your scales, or disrupt your opponent's scales.
ZefraSaber Atk 1500 Def 800 Scale 1 Level 4 Monster Origin Great Sorcerer of the Nekroz
Monster Effect You can Tribute this card from your hand or face-up from your side of the field; Tribute monsters from your hand or field, then Ritual Summon 1 "Nekroz" Ritual Monster from your hand whose Level exactly equals the total Levels of those monsters. You can only use this effect of "Zefrasaber, Swordmaster of the Nekroz" once per turn. This monster is basicly a ritual spell card.
Zefraxa Atk 2000 Def 1000 Scale 7 Level 5 Monster Origin Exa, Enforcer of the Nekroz
Monster Effect While this card is in your hand or Graveyard, if a face-up "Nekroz" or "Zefra" card(s), except "Zefraxa, Flame Beast of the Nekroz", is destroyed by battle or card effect while in your Monster Zone or Pendulum Zone: You can Special Summon this card. You can only use this effect of "Zefraxa, Flame Beast of the Nekroz" once per turn. This card can help against field clearing cards, wait for a raigeki to clear your field and special summon him to defend yourself.
Zefraniu Atk 0 Def 2600 Scale 7 Level 6 Monster Monster origin Taotie, shadow of the Yang Zing
Monster Effect When this card is Pendulum Summoned, or when this card is destroyed by battle or card effect while in your Monster Zone: You can add 1 "Yang Zing" or "Zefra" Spell/Trap Card from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing" once per turn. This is one of the most important monster effects, as it can easily allow you to search for the zefra field spell. Or other important spell/traps if you already have your field spell.
Zefraxi Atk 1500 Def 0 scale 1 Level 3 Monster Origin Jiaotu, Darkness of the Yang Zing
Monster Effect If this card is Pendulum Summoned, or Special Summoned from the Main Deck: You can target 1 "Yang Zing" or "Zefra" monster you control, except "Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing"; that monster is treated as a Tuner monster this turn, also place this card on the bottom of the Deck when it leaves the field. You can only use this effect of "Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing" once per turn. This card turns other zefra monsters into tuners, however you should try to avoid using this monster to synchro summon until you have your field spell out, because once Zefraxi leaves the field it goes to the bottom of your deck, and your field spell can instead put it on top.

When this card is Normal or Pendulum Summoned: You can target 1 "Ritual Beast" or "Zefra" monster in your Graveyard, except "Ritual Beast Tamer Zeframpilica"; Special Summon it, but destroy it during the End Phase. You can only Special Summon "Ritual Beast Tamer Zeframpilica(s)" once per turn. Useful card to help recycle zefra monsters used as xyz material or in other situations that send them to grave.

You can only Special Summon "Ritual Beast Tamer Zefrawendi(s)" once per turn. Useful to use if your scales are broken and you need one that is in your extra deck.
Zefradiance Continous spell card
Activate only if you control 2 "Zefra" cards in your Pendulum Zones, with Pendulum Scales of 1 and 7. When this card is activated: Shuffle all monsters you control into the Deck, except "Zefra" monsters. Neither player can Special Summon monsters, except from the hand or Extra Deck. While you control a card in your Pendulum Zone, this card cannot be targeted by card effects. If a card in your Pendulum Zone is destroyed, destroy this card. This card can lock down certain decks that focus on deck or grave summoning.
Oracle of Zefra Field Spell
When this card is activated: Add 1 "Zefra" monster from your Deck to your hand. When you Ritual Summon using a "Zefra" monster, or Special Summon using a "Zefra" monster as Material, you can activate these effects depending on the monster Summoned, once per turn per effect.
● Ritual: Shuffle 1 monster on the field into the Deck.
● Fusion: Special Summon 1 monster from your hand.
● Synchro: Choose 1 monster from your Deck and place it on top of your Deck.
● Xyz: Draw 1 card, then discard 1 card.
You can only activate 1 "Oracle of Zefra" per turn.
One of your most important spells, both a searcher when you activate it and its other special effects are useful when you summon extra deck monsters with zefra's.
Chosen of Zefra Continuous Trap
This card gains these effects depending on the number of face-up "Zefra" monsters with different names in your Extra Deck.
● 3 or more: Monsters you control gain 100 ATK for each face-up monster in any Extra Deck.
● 5 or more: Monsters you control cannot be destroyed by an opponent's card effects.
● 8 or more: Monsters you control cannot be targeted by an opponent's card effects.
● 10: You can send this card to the Graveyard; shuffle all cards from your opponent's hand, field, and Graveyard into the Deck.
Obviously the more pendulum monsters in your extra deck, the more powerful this card gets, should you reach 10 you can clear your opponent's field and grave and have an incredibly high chance to win.
Zefra Divine Strike Counter Trap
When a Spell/Trap Card, or monster effect, is activated: Banish 1 face-up "Zefra" monster from your Extra Deck; negate the activation, and if you do destroy it.
Your Standard every day archetype counter trap. Though the cost can be annoying you can negate any spell, trap, or monster effect that gets used.
When you go to put in monsters in your deck build, you should atleast make sure that the scales are balanced, as in you have an equal amount of scale 1's and scale 7's. When setting your scales, if possible try not to use Zefraniu , given his search effect to get oracle of zefra should be one of your main priorities. If you use zefra's for xyz consider adding pendulum back traps. When opting in to put support from the hyrbid archetypes, consider cards such as shaddoll fusion and nekroz mirror/kaleidoscope, for easy Fusion and ritual summoning. Be sure to remeber Oracle of Zefra's field spell effects when you xyz/synchro/fusion/ritual summon using zefra monsters.
Lastly you don't have to just use a pure zefra deck. You can easily insert these cards into their respective archetype decks for further support to those decks.
